Rashaad’s Interview in NY Screenwriting Life

In a chat with Janet Lawler of NY Screenwriting Life, Rashaad admits that “Acting is first, then directing, and finally writing” on his list of passions.  Of course, he adds “I have a lot to say, and the only way I have found that I can fully express it is by putting it on paper first.”  He also goes over advice to writers, encouraging them to “Tell the stories in you heart that need to be told.”  Good advice, Ra!

Esai Morales says Gun Hill Road is “different animal”

Esai Morales talks to Steve Rothaus’ Gay South Florida of the Miami Herald and says that “Gun Hill Road” is a different animal than “La Mission”, which was a film about a Latin father dealing with his gay son.  In GHR, the film addresses the transgender community where the physical aspect comes into play. Says Morales, “You can hide being gay. In Gun Hill you are taken into a world many find hard to reconcile. We really humanize the issue.”
